The Advice I Wish Someone Gave Me 10 Years Ago
This one shift could change everything for you.
Brother,
If I could go back 10 years and give my younger self one piece of advice, it would be this:
Stop waiting for the perfect moment.
For years, I told myself, “I’ll start when I’m ready,” or, “I’ll take that risk once things settle down.”
But here’s the truth I’ve learned the hard way: there’s no perfect moment. Life doesn’t pause, and the stars don’t align. The longer you wait, the more opportunities you miss.
Why Waiting Is the Biggest Mistake
When you wait for the perfect moment, you:
Lose time. The opportunity you’re hesitating on today might not be there tomorrow.
Let fear grow. The longer you delay, the more your doubts and “what-ifs” take over.
Settle for less. Comfort becomes a habit, and that habit keeps you stuck where you are.
What I’d Tell Myself (And You)
If I could sit down with my younger self, I’d say:
Take the first step, even if it’s messy. Clarity comes from action, not overthinking.
You’re not going to feel ready. Confidence is built by doing the hard thing, not waiting for the fear to go away.
Trust the process. Progress isn’t linear, and mistakes are part of the journey.
Your Time Is Now
So let me ask you:
What’s one thing you’ve been putting off because you’re waiting for the “right” time?
It could be starting that project, making a change in your life, or reaching out for support. Whatever it is, don’t wait. Take the first step today.
Because if you don’t start now, when will you?
Stay focused,
Michael
